Since 2000, Vern Malpass has continued to rise through the ranks of the logistics industry. As a leading executive, Vern has developed a Behavioral Based Safety program as well as a custom and robust labor planning tool for 100+ locations to manage labor and increase efficiency. He’s worked with national retailers across the country including Home Depot, Kroger, King Super, Gordon Foods Services, Albertsons, and Winco.

Since 1991, Jose Aguirre has been excelling and forging a highly respected career in the challenging world of 3rd party logistics. He started out with UPS before embarking on tenures with Inland Unloading, Sta works and Desert Empire prior to his career with Merit. Jose has overseen operations at a variety of DCs throughout the western region and has serviced a variety of retail clients including Big 5, Home Depot, State Bros.

Matt Alexander

Vice President of Operations

Over 25 years of senior operations management experience. 3 years at Merit Logistics.

Matt Alexander spent more than 20 years at ALDI USA where he began as a District Manager responsible for overseeing 4-6 store locations. He was promoted to Director of Warehouse and Logistics, a role in which he oversaw ALDI’s distribution center operations for a region that grew from 40 to 325 employees and 26 to 110 stores during his tenure. Subsequently, he served as Broadline Director at US Foods and also as Director of Operations for their 450,000 sq. ft warehouse facility in Manassas, VA. As Vice President of Operations for Merit Logistics, Matt oversees service operations for all customer warehouse locations nationwide and works to ensure smooth implementation of services for new locations.

Over 15 years of finance and accounting experience. 6 years at Merit Logistics.

Yesenia Garcia embarked on her journey as a finance professional in 2008 and has since flourished in her field. She began her career at Merit Logistics in 2017 as an accounting specialist. Her exceptional performance led to her promotion to Senior Accountant in November 2019, where she not only maintained her accounting responsibilities but also began overseeing the Payroll department. In recognition of her outstanding contributions, Yesenia was promoted to her current position as Director of Finance in April 2022. In this role, she now oversees both the Accounting and Payroll Departments, exemplifying her exceptional leadership capabilities. Her 15 years of accounting experience have helped her gain the level of expertise to become the leader she is today.
